Wishing everyone a happy New Year. Let's hope 2023 is a great year. For me I'll be glad to be leaving 2022 because I view the year as a failure for me, nothing seemed to come to fruition, the year just dragged out. I felt like I was in a limbo, but I'm hopeful for a better year in 2023. I also wish everyone else great success, happiness, peace and good health in 2023. Happy New Year, we survived another year...

The call
They answered the call
To fight for one & all
They went to far away lands
To fight & protect our homelands.
They answered the call
They left by the hundreds & thousands
But lots never came home
War is bleak, dark & cruel
Millions upon millions died from these wars
Some gassed, some bombed
Some shot, some of malnutrition
But some just died from disease.
There are no winners with war
There is only death & destruction
So many poor young souls perished
They died for us to be free
Freedoms we take for granted
Let us never forget
The brave souls who never got to go home
The ones who lost everything
Including their dreams & goals
May their bravery, their stories
& all their names live on in our hearts & memories
Let us never forget
The brave souls who answered the call.

R.I.P Queen Elizabeth II
Nearly all of the main UK tv channels are showing the funeral of the queen. All of the itv channels are only showing the funeral, and both BBC channels are showing the service. Rest in peace to the queen and all the poor people in the world who have died, the ones who weren't born into wealth and privileged, and are not having millions spent on them for their funeral, and to all the people who died alone or felt lonely and won't be having world leaders mourning them. The poorest will have their rewards in the afterlife.

A survival guide for someone else
I used to think the press interviews I did were a waste of time, especially with all the hate and abuse I have to deal with, and the hate and abuse have increased with the rise of social media, but as I always say, social media is where all the village idiot's meet 😁 I began to think maybe I should give up, then I read this quote.......'One day your survival story will become part of someone else's survival guide'.
That quote blew my mind, and made me think, maybe I am doing some good? This article is one of my first big features in one of the UK' main national newspapers, 'The Daily Telegraph'. This interview is where I began to talk more openly about the abuse I went through. My story was syndicated (sold) in over 24 different countries, but I wasn't paid a penny, I guess that's why Rupert Murdoch is so rich, he owns the newspaper.
This newspaper feature is over 22 years old, I feel old saying that. This is when I began talking openly about the abuse I went through with bullies and paedophile groups. I was sold from one peadophile to another for 10p, they wanted me to feel worthless. They also told me they'd given me aids and I was going to die! I've believed since I was about 7 that I had aids! They told me if I spoke out about it, they'd get the police to arrest me, and they'd torture me and put me in prison. They even threatened to rape my mother and sisters, and murder my father while he's working in the evenings. They would even dress up as police officers for me to belive their lies.
You'll see from the headline, it says, 'Lisa-Lee's refuge in music'. It's true, music was my refuge, it was my safe space. I sometimes share my music audio with you, some people say kind things, most people are rude, nasty and vicious, and my message to them is, why would your opinion of me, and your lies and jealous hatred be of any interest to me? Where were you when I was getting hurt? You are weak, and you'll never have my courage, to sing or speak openly about horrific things that have happened. I am proud of myself, and I refuse to be anybody's victim. I'm also not a survivor, I don't like that word, it's just being a victim with a different name! I am me, I am Lisa-Lee Dark, or my new spelling, Leesa Lee Dark!

Yemen cease-fire
Finally some good news with the warring parties in Yemen agreeing to a two month cease-fire. Hopefully this cease-fire will stay in place and last longer than two months, so the country can begin to rebuild and the people can start to heal.
The poor country of Yemen was at war with an Arab coalition of nine different nations from the Middle East, and parts of Africa, and supported by USA, UK & France. For all the people who attacked me for being anti-war, and highlighting how bad and wrong war is for everyone; and for standing up for peace, this is what we're trying to do. Achieve peace for everyone. We are the ones giving a voice to the voiceless and turning the wider public against war.
To all the people supporting or excusing Russia or Putin, you are the enablers, the bringers of death and destruction. You are anti-peace. Your words and actions helps these wars drag on. You allow the death toll to rise, you allow suffering to continue. Hopefully this cease-fire will become permanent and it will lead to more peace around the world.

My candle for Ukraine
This is my candle for Ukraine. I pray for peace in Ukraine and all over the world. We've had enough of wars with the death and destruction they bring. I pray for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and for the end of all wars.

2022 - Happy St. Patrick's day
Happy St. Patrick's day everyone. I know I talked about St. David's day on March 1st, because I'm Welsh, but I'm part Irish too, this is because my mother was born in Derry (Londonderry if you're non-Catholic). I include an Irish blessing.
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the Sun shine warm upon your face
and may the Lord hold you in the palm
of His hand ❤

Remember Yemen
Yemen is one of the Arab world's poorest countries, and for the last 8 years it's been struggling with a vicious civil war. The violence over the last few months has been getting worse, and the war in Ukraine will make life harder for them because it will cause more food shortages. Five million people are already on the brink of famine, over 2 million children under the age of 5 are acutely malnourished, almost half a million children are at risk of dying without treatment. Half the Yemen population have no access to safe drinking water, which has caused Cholera outbreaks. Twenty million people lack access to proper healthcare. The situation is getting worse.
Always the most innocent and poorest suffer the most. All wars are wrong, and they're avoidable today. I see very few people calling out Saudi Arabia or UAE for the killings that's going on here, or causing so much suffering. Is this because the Houthi rebels are mostly from the Shia Muslim community. Lots of the Yemenis are not light skinned, but hardly any of the non-white Muslims are calling for the end of this war, or calling out the wealthy Arab countries that are dropping bombs on innocent, poor people. People are calling the Westerners racist, saying they're only supporting Ukrainians because they're white, blonde haired and blue eyed; even though most Ukrainians are not blue eyed or blonde. Why are so many not campaigning for the non-white Yemeni people? The Houthis May be Shia, and a minority, but Sunni Muslims in Yemen support them, so why are they forgotten and not mentioned. A Yemeni mother loves her children just as much as a Jewish or Christian mother. Every life is sacred and precious. Everyone has the right to live in safety.
I do not stand with people or support them because of the colour of their skin, or because of what religious group they belong to. I care about people who are suffering and need a voice. The citizens of Yemen are suffering and it's not popular to care about them, but I do. Yemen needs our prayers. END ALL WARS!

2022 - International women's day
Happy international women's day. This year to celebrate it, I'm sharing a photo of a woman called 'Sarah Everard', sadly Sarah is no longer with us because a serving Met police officer murdered her last year. I will not mention his name, he deserves to be forgotten, but while Sarah was walking home one evening in South London, a serving Met police officer arrested Sarah, and told her he was arresting her for breaking Covid-19 regulations; this officer then kidnapped Sarah, raped her and strangled her to death, before burning her body and disposing of her remains in a pond. This officer was caught and is now in prison.
Sarah was a beautiful young woman who had her whole life in front of her, but she was murdered because of this toxic masculinity that seems to be growing all over the world. Lots of men need to be taught its not ok to hurt someone who is vulnerable and weaker than you. Thankfully there are still some good men out there, but they seem to be a dying breed, and we need to change this. Today on this international women's day, I remember Sarah Everard, and all the victims around the world of male aggression, violence and toxic masculinity, and I pay respect to the good men who know how to behave like a true gentleman.

Life is not black and white
Don't define your world in black and white because there are so many other colours out there. Most of life is grey with lots of tiny little bits of other colours hiding away from view, and its these different colours that brings beauty to this dark and grey world, because this is where art lives

6th anniversary - Adagio of hope
Today is the 6th anniversary of my debut digital single, 'Adagio of hope'. I used this single to try to raise money for an 'arts/writing' project in Gaza, unfortunately the project didn't survive, partly due to the never ending on going situation in Gaza, and this single was a slow burner, meaning that it took a while before people started to listen to it and like it! Happy anniversary Adagio of hope ❤❤❤
