Karim

This beautiful little angel is my friend from Gaza's son, his name is Karim, and in English his name means generous. This is what Karim is, he is generous with his love and kindness. He is only 18 months old but he is becoming very weak from the lack of food and clean water getting into Gaza. What would you do if this was your child? What would you want the world to be doing if this was your child?

If a person did this to a child in any country, the people wouldn't just be shouting at them, they'd be attacking them. Where are your voices now? I've never met Karim or his older brother and sister, but I love them and I deeply care about them. This is breaking my heart seeing the suffering of all the Palestinian people, but watching Karim get weak is killing me. I hate our politicians, they support this and have actively helped in this genocide. I will never forgive them. One day they will have to pay for their crimes, but until that happens we have a moral duty, a duty of care to speak out for these children. These babies.

Karim's father is a strong man, he is super fit and he has said his children are his life. He will do anything to protect them, he'd even give his life for them, but even he can't do anything in this situation. There is no food, no clean water, no formula milk, no nappies (diapers), no medicines getting into Gaza, and the bombing, looting and shooting is getting worse all the time. Can you even begin to imagine how my friend, Karim's father is feeling? There's nothing he can do. This has to stop! This has to end. The collective punishment is wrong and must stop, and the collective punishment of all the children must stop. Children are supposed to be protected in war, children have rights, especially in war, but no child should ever be in a war zone. Speak out for them. Give your voice to Karim and all the children in Gaza.

Happy Father's Day

Today in the UK it is Father's day. I'd like to wish all father's a happy father's day, including my own. But I'd especially like to wish all the father's in Gaza a happy Father's day, and let them know, we see you and your bravery. Any man in Gaza is labelled a terrorist, but this is so far from the truth. Gaza has shown us how brave and courageous many of them are. The men in Gaza are many things, doctors saving lives, teachers trying to educate the children and help them deal with their trauma, some are ambulance drivers risking their lives trying to get medical help for the sick and injured. Some are rescuers working all hours trying to dig bomb victims out of the rubble of their homes. The list goes on and on, and let's not forget that most of the men in Gaza are risking their lives trying to get food and water for their families. These men are brave and courageous and I hold them in the highest regard, we should all honour and respect their bravery.

Some father's have died in Gaza, like the one in my last photos. He died trying to feed his family, and others are getting injured and hurt trying to feed their families. If you want to know what a strong man looks like, look at the men in Gaza, because there are none braver than them.

Happy father's day to all fathers, whether they're with you or in another place. The very last photo is of a Palestinian father killed today, on 'Father's Day's, collecting flour to feed his family. He has no weapons on him, he is not Hamas or any other armed group, just a defenceless man, a defenceless father trying to keep his family alive. May he rest in peace.
